Holiday searches on the internet peak Tuesday as office workers' daydream about taking time off, research in Britain has found.

Online holiday searches shoot up by 9 p.m. Tuesday as workers struggle to get through the week, Daily Express reported Tuesday.

There are some who just can't wait to reach home and they log on to the internet at work between 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Hotels.com, a booking website, carried out the research that indicates people look for escapism during the gloomiest day of the week.

'On Tuesdays we haven't quite reached the middle of the working week, so our need to escape reality is heightened,' Alison Couper of Hotels.com said was quoted as saying.

'Browsing holidays is one way to transport ourselves from normality to stunning locations around the world and, even if only window-shopping, checking out locations helps the next time you get away,' he said.
